INSET Training

“It is paradoxical that many educators and parents still differentiate between a time for learning and a time for play without seeing the vital connection between them.”

Leo Buscaglia PhD

So, I thought to myself, why should the benefits of Experiential Learning and Game Based Training Activities should be confined to the corporate sphere.  Don’t children deserve some fun in their learning too?

In 2009 I created an INSET (In Service Training) course to share with teachers some of the tools, games and experiential exercises I use to make learning fun and memorable.  I ran a pilot for a dozen teachers, which was booked by Birmingham Health Education Unit.

This is what they said:-

“Thank you for a great, enjoyable day.  You have given me lots of ideas and enthusiasm.”

Kay Strait, Birches Green School

The practical application aspect of the day has been really worthwhile, and will help me make good use of the games.  They will make a positive impact.”

Alison Talis, Hawthorn Primary

Courses are now being actively promoted to schools in the 14 educational authorities of the West Midlands.  They are also available further afield by arrangement.  Please contact me to discuss.

“The greatest sin we can commit against our children is to make them sit still on a chair for long hours. Most schools just do that. A child’s life is motion and activity and most learning should be by doing.”

 Arvind Gupta.
